Rudy named Mrs. Lynn Owens as his STAR teacher stating that she invested a great deal of personal time in helping him succeed. He said, “She always challenged me to the fullest extent of my ability; and even in times that I could not see the whole expanse of my potential, she always could and always helped me make use of it.” Mrs. Owens said that Rudy had a plan to excel in math so he could pursue a medical career. She said, “Rudy had a goal in mind, and we worked together to strengthen his skills. He certainly reached his goal.” Rudy will attend Mercer University’s School of Liberal Arts to study biology, pre-med and Spanish in the fall of 2008, and then Mercer University’s School of Medicine to become a medical doctor.
