Valdosta Raises Money for Ms. Seko

On Thursday February 7, the Student Government Association and the Student Service Leagues of the Valdosta Campus held a silent auction and bake sale for Ms. Darlina Seko. Ms. Seko is the Business Office Assistant for the Valdosta Campus who was in a near fatal automobile accident on January 5. Ms. Seko spent several weeks in Shand’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. after being airlifted from local facilities. She is now in a rehabilitation center where she is improving each day. Her co-workers hope she will rejoin the GMC Valdosta team in the near future. In just one day the two student groups raised over $2,500. The funds will assist Ms. Seko with her medical expenses. Ms. Leslie Hafer, Valdosta Campus Director, said, "We are very proud of these students and the many students, faculty and staff members who participated in the event. We are also thankful to the many donors who provided items for the silent auction and the bake sale."
