Prep Visits DC

Georgia Military College Prep School eighth grade students recently visited Washington, D.C. During the trip, Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson joined GMC students in honoring Congressman Carl Vinson by laying a wreath in his memory at the US Navy Memorial. Senator Isakson is pictured with the group. Members of the GMC Eighth Grade Color Guard, (pictured, left to right) Blake Martin, Chris Brown, Jaleesa Barksdale, Wes Applebury, and Brenden Beasley participated in the ceremony with the Navy Honor Guard. GMC eighth graders, Julianna Grant, Rob Grimes, and Christin Cox, who all have ties to the Navy either through grandparents or siblings, are pictured with a member of the US Navy Honor Guard during the ceremony. In addition, as part of the class trip, GMC eighth graders, Kelly Smith, Chris Brown, Sean Tighe and Karmyn Fuller placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery. They are pictured with a member of the honor guard.
