State to Provide $10 Million

MG Peter J. Boylan, President of Georgia Military College, received word on Saturday, April 21, 2007, from State Representative Bobby Parham that the Georgia General Assembly decided in conference to provide $10 million to Georgia Military College to begin construction of a new preparatory school. MG Boylan said, “We will proceed with the construction in phases. We will begin demolition of the old barracks in the September/October timeframe and expect to break ground on the new preparatory school in October 2007.” President Boylan is confident that the construction dollars needed to complete the project (an additional $11 million) will be allocated to Georgia Military College in the next budget year. President Boylan said, “We are profoundly grateful to Representatives Bobby Parham (District 141) and Ben Harbin (District 118 and Chairman of House Appropriations) for representing us so effectively in the most recent budget deliberations.”
