Students participate in a comprehensive program that combines the best of the academic and business worlds.

Courses are taught by experienced and esteemed faculty members who practice what they teach - a major factor that contributes to our professional and career-minded program. Dedicated and caring, each teacher makes the learning process a challenging, energizing, highly personalized experience.

Small classes of 14-22 students allow for interaction among students and the highly qualified faculty who are authorities in their fields. In addition, students - from major Philadelphia-area employers - bring diverse backgrounds that promote valuable interaction between peers during class and learning team meetings.

Transfer Students

Gwynedd-Mercy College has a long history of working closely with transfer students who wish to complete their college education with this institution. Since the doors have opened at the Fort Washington Campus in August 2000, the vast majority (est. 75%) of our Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL) students attending here have transferred from other four-year or two-year colleges and universities - across the county, state, country - and around the world.

A Transfer Opportunity Geared for the Working Adult Learner

The average age of students earning their degrees through the Center for Lifelong Learning is 35. Overall, our students range in age from 24 to 64. The class size at the Center ranges from 14 to 22 students, and on average provides a 17 to 1 student/teacher ratio. This small classroom benchmark - coupled with student services next to none - provide the personal attention and support busy working adults desire when seeking a degree on an accelerated level. Our Fort Washington location (click here) is readily accessible from several major state highways - Routes 611, 152, 63, 309 and I-276, just to name a few. Excellent accelerated degree programs, superior student service and much needed convenience are trademarks of Gwynedd-Mercy's Center for Lifelong Learning.

About Transferring to CLL

All college level credit is reviewed on an individual basis. A grade of C or better is required for grades to transfer successfully. When a student applies for a CLL program and has all official documents and transcripts sent to the Center for Lifelong Learning, a careful review and evaluation of all work will take place in a timely manner. Once a transfer evaluation document is prepared, the transfer student will be contacted for a personal academic appointment to review all transfer work and to formulate a personal plan for completing her or his degree program.

Students transferring from two-year institutions will have each course evaluated for transferability. In some cases, qualified community college students may enjoy programmatic transfer for Associate Degree programs completed if a Dual Admissions Agreement, such as those that exist between Montgomery County Community College (click here), Bucks County Community College (click here) and Manor Junior College (Site Link Being Developed - see www.manor.edu) is in place.

Dual Admissions

Gwynedd-Mercy College is proud to announce that DUAL ADMISSIONS agreements are in place with Montgomery County Community College (MCCC), Bucks County Community College (BCCC) and Manor Junior College (MJC). Registration for this opportunity entitles the MCCC, BCCC or MJC student to be admitted into a bachelor's program at Gwynedd-Mercy College provided that an associate's degree is earned with a minimum 2.0 grade point average.

If an associate degree is earned with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 a scholarship, equivalent to a 25% discount off CLL's cost per credit hour, may be received - once accepted into a bachelor degree program offered through the Center for Lifelong Learning (click here).

Additional Financial Assistance in the form of student loans enables transfer students to make Gwynedd-Mercy College affordable and an excellent college choice.
