Association of Information and Technology Professionals (AITP)
AITP is a national organization. AITP provides programs to educate the college community about information technology and presents information about computer-related careers. For additional information, contact Tom Gilmore at ext. 431, or email gilmore.t@gmc.edu.

Behavioral and Social Science Club
Students in the behavioral and social sciences program plan and present a variety of programs centered around topics and concerns associated with their areas of expertise. Best Buddies
Best Buddies is an international organization whose mission is to enhance the lives of people with disabilities. The college members of Best Buddies are paired with individuals from the community who have special needs for the purpose of friendship and socialization. The members of Best Buddies interact with their buddies through on and off campus events, individual outings, and Best Buddies-sponsored programs. Biology Student Association (BSA)
The Biology Student Association, BSA, is a student-run organization that does a wide variety of activities both indoors and outdoors. Students will gain a biological insight into the surrounding world. Students who are interested or want additional information should contact Dr. Paul Langer at langer.p@gmc.edu.

Black Student Union (BSU) Members discuss some of the civil methods of confront challenges that face minorities; assist in career networking; increase awareness of African-Americans', Blacks', Hispanics', Asians', etc. culture and heritage; and promote the values of the campus. Book Buddies
Book Buddies is a student-run club which has, in the past, had book collecting events as well as attending elementary school functions to work with children and literature. This year we would like to begin attending schools during school hours to read to children. We'd also like to have guest speakers this year to share their knowledge of literature and children's books. Book Buddies welcomes new members and is very open to new ideas. Griffin Wings Theater Group
GOALS AND MISSION STATEMENT-Our goal is to incorporate both music and theatre into the cultural atmosphere of Gwynedd Mercy College. It is in our belief that through instilling pride through one’s talents and helping one go through the path of self discovery, that this will have long lasting positive effects in the classroom. Furthermore, we hope to send an outreach to the college and Gwynedd Valley community, instilling messages of hope, self-determination and open-mindedness. Along with benefits to enrich our own program, we hope to raise money to benefit the needs of the community (Homeless Shelters, Nursing Facilities..etc.) It is also our goal to have the community members join us, so the college’s mission statement of mercy and the ideals of Catherine McCauley are emphasized and reflected upon.

Gwynedd-Mercy Business Club
The Gwynedd-Mercy Business Club is a student run organization supervised by some members of the School of Business and CIS as well as other members of the college staff for the main purpose of learning, association, networking, and recreation. The group consists of an eclectic body of students who are eager to begin participation in the exciting world of commerce and who are collectively developing creative ways through which they can further their knowledge and skills outside the classroom. The Gwynedd-Mercy Business Club provides a great avenue for students to meet with and learn from other students and professors both on and off campus and also to network with people in the diverse sectors of the corporate environment. Campus Ministry
The role of Campus Ministry at Gwynedd-Mercy College is to support all members of the college community in their spiritual growth, enabling each of us to celebrate and live the Gospel message in the tradition of Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy. The Campus Ministry team exercises its ministry in a variety of ways: through gathering the community for prayer; through community service, educational and social events; and through spiritual direction, retreats, and prayer groups. Cheerleading
Do you have school spirit? Do you like to have fun? If so, then check out the Gwynedd-Mercy College Cheerleading Team! Our squad cheers at both the men's and women's home basketball games during the fall and winter. We also perform at other GMC events such as Homecoming and pep rallies, and this year we will begin traveling to competitions. Anyone who wishes to join must try-out for a spot on the squad who cheers at games. Separate try-outs will be held later in the year for the competition squad.

College Newspaper (The Gwynmercian)

Dance Team
So you think you can dance! Well, why not try-out for the Gwynedd-Mercy College Dance Team. The Dance Team is a group of 20 energetic students who prepare and perform dance routines at GMC sporting events, particularly basketball games. The members of the Dance Team also participate in community service activities and assist with events/programs sponsored by campus or other campus organizations. Education Club
All education majors become members of this club which creates a forum to discuss educational issues. Activities include a Halloween celebration and a fair for a local school. GISO (Gwynedd-Mercy College International Student Organization)

GMAEYC (Gwynedd-Mercy Association for the Education of Young Children)
GMAEYC is the GMC chapter of the Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children, and is an advocate for early childhood education. As members of the chapter, students exude a level of professionalism and promote best practices in early childhood education. Members also become educated about current trends and are informed about what is happening politically regarding early childhood education. Early Childhood/Elementary students have developed a college chapter of the professional organization titled The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The local Delaware Valley chapter (DVAEYC) has visited the campus several times in support of our efforts and to provide guidance. Our chapter's title is The Gwynedd Mercy Association for th Education of Young Children (GMAEYC).

The Griffin
Students are encouraged to submit written works to the College's literary journal. The Griffin encourages works that explore universal qualities, such as truth, justice, integrity, compassion, and mercy. Harmony Theater

National Science Teachers Association (NSTA)
The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), founded in 1944 and headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, is the largest organization in the world committed to promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all. NSTA's current membership of more than 53,000 includes science teachers, science supervisors, administrators, scientists, business and industry representatives, and others involved in and committed to science education. The Purpose of this Chapter is to: Inform students of the support resources available from NSTA; Provide additional professional development in science education to pre-service teachers; Provide free membership and a free science education journal for a year; Provide field trips to places of scientific interest; Create a Science Collection in the library. Orientation Leaders
Being an Orientation Leader at GMC is an exciting opportunity! Orientation Leaders play a very important role in assisting new GMC students with their transition into college life. Leaders are assigned to a group of students and are responsible for helping them through the adjustment of becoming a GMC student. During Orientation, Leaders do things like help students to interact with each other, answer new students' questions about college life, help with programming and events, and act as role models and mentors to new students. Orientation Leaders not only help others, but also help themselves. Orientation Leaders have the chance to develop skills that will last throughout a lifetime. Some of these skills include: interpersonal communication, flexibility, group dynamics, public speaking, leadership, utilizing resources, teamwork, and problem solving. Peer Mentoring Association
The Peer Mentor Association is composed of undergraduate students who desire to assume a helping role with other Gwynedd-Mercy College students. The goal of the Peer Mentor Association is to promote wellness on campus by acting as liaisons to Counseling staff and being available to other students as a resource. The Peer Mentors also plan events on campus on issues such as alcohol abuse, eating disorders, AIDS, relationships, and more. The Peer Mentors work closely with the Counseling staff and are trained in basic micro-counseling skills with an emphasis on communication, conflict resolution, and referral techniques. Psychology Club
The Psychology Club is open to students from all majors interested in psychological issues. The club is designed to create opportunities for students to share their common interests, learn about current psychological research, talk to well-known psychologists, receive guidance in applying for graduate school through career fairs, conduct research, and attend and present at local and national conferences. In other words, it will provide you with what you need to get to the graduate school or job of your dreams!.

Residence Hall Council
RHA is the representative body for the students living in the residence halls. The purpose of the RHA is to provide feedback regarding residence life to the residence life staff and to organize social events for the residential community. Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
The SAAC is the GMC chapter of the National Collegiate Athletic Association SAAC, whose mission is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare, and fostering a positive student-athlete image. SAAC is comprised of student-athletes from GMC's NCAA sponsored teams and provides insight on the student-athlete experience, and offers in put on the rules, regulations, and policies that affect the lives of student-athletes. Student Nurses' Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP)
SNAP is a preprofessional organization designed to providing members with their fundamental interests and concerns, as well as aid in the professional role of the nursing student. SNAP promotes and encourages community activities, charitable affairs, and collaborates with nursing and health-related organizations. Student Activities Committee (SAC)
SAC is a student-run organization that provides various activities and programs for the student body of GMC. Its main purpose is to sponsor shows, events, and activities. Some events the SAC promotes include: game shows, psychic night, sporting events, bingo, Spring Fling, dances, comedy shows, and field trips. The events sponsored by SAC are primarily for the Gwynedd-Mercy community, but may extend to the general public. Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)
The GMC Students in Free Enterprise Team is a group of students from all majors and academic disciplines who engage in community outreach and education projects aimed at encouraging free enterprise, entrepreneurship, personal financial success skills, and business ethics in our local economy. Our SIFE team is a member of the international Students In Free Enterprise organization and competes at the annual Philadelphia Regional SIFE Competition. The competition is comprised of teams from many colleges and universities in the Philadelphia region who each give presentations and reports about the community outreach projects that they have worked on in the past year. The top teams in each category go on to compete at the SIFE National Competition and winners there go on to compete and the SIFE International Competition. Many respected businesses and corporations sponsor and judge the SIFE competitions, and there are many job opportunities with these corporations available to students involved in SIFE. Student Government Association
We plan, design, and promote a variety of student activities and events that are based on student choice. We constantly strive to communicate a positive atmosphere within our group and throughout the campus. We act as the student voice for the general student population. Valley Players

Voices of Gwynedd
The Voices of Gwynedd is a 100-member choir representing full and part-time students and friends of GMC. Students may gain academic credit through membership in the group or may participate in an extracurricular capacity. Enriching the campus and the region, the Voices provide on-campus concerts and events throughout the year, currently attracting its largest audiences ever. Their most recent regional events include performances at the Philadephia Phillies games, performances with Barry Manilow on "The Ultimate Manilow" concert tour, and as the featured choir with JoDee Messina on her Christmas Tour in 2003. The group has expanded its repertoire with concert tours to include Walt Disney World, Carnegie Hall, Southern California, Ireland and England. ALL ARE WELCOME!
