The Campus Ministry staff welcomes all our new students!
The Campus Ministry/Mercy Works staff extends a warm welcome to all our incoming students! We look forward to meeting you during your Orientation service experience (Friday, August 26), and invite you to explore the many ways that you can deepen your connection with God, self and others through our programs. We are here to support all members of the Gwynedd-Mercy College community--regardless of religious background--in their search for spiritual growth, so if you are wondering if Campus Ministry/Mercy Works is here for you, please know that we are! For a list of ways to get involved, here's a form you can fill out and return to us--we'll keep you posted when things you are interested in are starting up. Would you rather THRIVE as a new student than just SURVIVE? Then consider our Freshman SURVIVOR retreat, held November 11-13 at a retreat house on the beach in Long Branch NJ. Click here to download an application, due November 8. Please explore our website at your leisure, check out our Mass schedule, visit our calendar of services and events (updated regularly) and feel free to pop into Visitation House, the Campus Ministry center, which is just past the tennis courts on the way to Alexandria Hall. We will hold an OPEN HOUSE for all students on Wednesday, September 7 from 4-6 p.m., where you can meet active students and learn more about our activities. You can also watch the GMC Portal for a weekly announcement of upcoming Campus Ministry/Mercy Works activities, with a thought-provoking quote each week! Please note: there will be a Welcome Weekend Mass on Sunday, August 28 at 10:00 a.m. in Julia Ball Auditorium; your family is welcome to return to campus for this special liturgy. If you would be interested in serving as a lector, cross-bearer or candle-bearer, or in bringing up the gifts with your parents, please contact Fr. John Collins, our Chaplain, at collins.j@gmc.edu or 215-641-5531. (Please note: Sunday is move-in day for returning students; if your family is coming to Mass please ask them to leave their car parked on the front end of campus to free up parking near the residence halls for those moving in.) Sincerely, Your Campus Ministry/Mercy Works Staff: Christine Eberle, Director of Campus Ministry, x590 Fr. John Collins, CSsR, Chaplain / Campus Minister, x531 Betsy Stone Plummer, Mercy Works Program Administrator, x592
