Witness to Innocence: From Death Row to Freedom

Gwynedd-Mercy College's "Common Hour" series continues with a thought provoking story of one man's struggle with freedom. Witness to Innocence's Shujaa Graham spent 12 years behind bars. Three of those years were on death row for a crime he didn't commit. Graham will outline his challenging childhood to his rehabilitation, and everything in between. A preview of his personal story can be found here. Witness to Innocence brings together former death row inmates who reveal inspiring stories about their time being wrongfully imprisoned. Graham can be seen on Sept. 28 at 1:30pm at Julia Ball Auditorium. An encore appearance will be held in the Connelly Faculty Center's tier classroom at 4:30pm. Don't miss this amazing story!

In case you missed it, check out the emotional appearance here.

Upper Darby Police Chief Michael Chitwood Appears on Campus

On Sept. 14, students and faculty attended an informative session with Upper Darby's Police Chief Michael Chitwood. The longtime Philadelphia detective shared candid stories of his days in the city's famed Homicide Division. He revealed why he decided to join the police force, and his early struggles trying to make a name for himself. Chitwood encouraged Criminal Justice students to continue their education and to learn as much as they can before getting into the field. The event was held in the tier classroom of Connelly Faculty Center.
