See the return of The Valley Players as they perform Chekhov's Ladies

Gwynedd-Mercy College's The Valley Players will present Chekhov's Ladies, works from the famous Russian author, on Thursday, March 31, Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2.

The Valley Players, consisting of students and alumni, will perform Chekhov's Ladies under the direction of Jules Tasca, playwright and former full-time English professor, who taught cinema, creative writing and drama. Tasca is back at the College as an adjunct faculty member.

The performance will take place at 7:30 p.m. each night in the Julia Ball Auditorium.

A donation of $3 is requested. GMC students may be admitted at no cost upon presenting their student ID.

Gwynedd-Mercy College invites you to...

A Night of Irish Heritage

Gwynedd-Mercy College invites you to a special performance at the Act II Playhouse in Ambler, Pa., "The Pride of Parnell Street." Through humor and passion, the play depicts a failing marriage after Ireland's loss in the 1990 World Cup.

When: Sunday, April 3 at 2 p.m.

Tickets: $30 for adults, $17 for students (includes a coupon to The Shanacie Irish pub & restaurant across the street from Act II Playhouse)

Note: The deadline for this price is March 14. Please send checks payable to Gwynedd-Mercy College with "Act II" in the memo line to Christine Eberle, Gwynedd-Mercy College, 1325 Sumneytown Pike, Gwynedd Valley, PA 19437. Please indicate the number of adult and student tickets you would like. Tickets will be held for you at Act II unless other arrangements are made.

Proceeds ($7 of each ticket) will benefit the Dublin Pilgrimage for Young Mercy Leaders.

"Frances Warde: Bringing Mercy to America" Play

Wednesday, March 16

In continued commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Sisters of Mercy, Gwynedd-Mercy College will hold a one-woman play titled “Frances Warde: Bringing Mercy to America.” The play depicts the influential life of Warde, a Sister of Mercy who brought the order to America from Carlow, Ireland, in 1843. Before her death in 1884, Warde helped the Sisters of Mercy create more than 300 health and educational institutions in 25 states.

“Frances Warde: Bringing Mercy to America” provides a closer look at Warde’s fierce dedication to her mission, revealing why she was successful in advancing the Catholic cause of developing the nation and establishing the foundations of modern social work practice.
