STUDENT LIFE

In addition to a need for more academic space, students expressed a desire to have more places on campus for student activities and services. A vibrant campus life is especially important to our growing number of resident students. Nearly 600 students currently live in four residence halls.

Currently, on-campus space that is dedicated to student use includes the Late Night Lounge, the Downtime Den and Rotelle Lounge, all located in different buildings. Students believe that creating a hub for activities would bring students together and create spirit.

Realizing that a college experience extends beyond the classroom, Gwynedd-Mercy College hopes that the Campaign will improve every encompassing aspect of student life. As the College's enrollment grows, the number of student activities, organizations and community service opportunities increase. In fact, every student participates in community service during their time at the College. A hub for students on campus would provide formal and informal meeting rooms to support these activities, including a space to reflect on their civic engagement, listen to guest lectures, and attend events such as comedy and movie nights.
