ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Gwynedd-Mercy College produces graduates who go on to create lives and
careers with deep meaning. The College's alumni are teachers, serving youth in
the Tri-State Region. They are nurses and allied health professionals, improving
the health of our families and friends. They are business professionals, making
connections and contributing to a flowing economy. They are social workers,
police officers and scientists, helpers, protectors and researchers. Though their
career paths are different, all Gwynedd-Mercy College alumni share an education
rooted in Mercy, an emphasis on moral and ethical values not paralleled by any
other institution. The
Gwynedd-Mercy College Futures Campaign will continue this tradition of
producing distinguished Mercy graduates.
The Campaign seeks to address those programs on campus that build upon our
existing strengths by:
-
upgrading skills laboratories and equipment
- emphasizing critical thinking and problem solving through the arts and sciences
to shape civically engaged students
- enabling business faculty to empower students as leaders in an increasingly
diversified global environment
- responding to the rapidly changing uses of technology in health care, while
simultaneously addressing the critical shortage of qualified nursing faculty
The College plans to create a new, cutting-edge facility for the School of
Education. The
building will help Gwynedd-Mercy College meet current challenges in the
education field, including a shortage of technologically-proficient and ethically-centered teachers, a lack of teachers in urban schools, and the need for more
educators that hold a distinction in teaching math and science.
