Faculty Biography
Assistant professor for the respiratory care program, Ann L. Cusano has been a member of the GMC faculty since 1988. She teaches courses on medical terminology, and respiratory theory, lab procedures and research. She earned her associate degree in respiratory care from Miami Dade Community College, her bachelor’s degree in education from Nova Southeastern University and her master’s degree in education from GMC. Prior to teaching at GMC, Professor Cusano worked as an educational coordinator and respiratory therapy critical care supervisor at Jackson Memorial Hospital – University of Miami Medical Center, a respiratory therapy critical care director at Hollywood Memorial Regional Medical Center, Hollywood, Fl., and as a critical care therapist and pulmonary function technologist at Doylestown Hospital. She is a registered respiratory therapist and a certified pulmonary function technologist. Her areas of expertise are lung health and disease awareness, pulmonary function testing, smoking cessation and CPR training. In addition to teaching at GMC, Professor Cusano is also an active member of the Pennsylvania Society for Respiratory Care (PSRC), serving as editor of their newsletter, chairperson of their Eastern Regional Seminar and board member of their state society publications. She is also a member of Lambda Beta, the national honor society for respiratory care and Alpha Eta, the national honor society for allied health professionals. |
