Students in the Criminal Justice Degree Program will benefit from small classroom settings, supported by robust research programs and mandatory field experience (120 hours of internship in police departments, probation departments and private security companies among others). Emphasis is placed on preparing graduates to enter the professional workplace or continue their studies in graduate and law schools.
Students with career goals in law enforcement also have the option of attending the Municipal Police Academy, certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This training is offered as part of the four-year degree in Criminal Justice, without any additional time or expense. The police academy training gives students the chance to earn ACT 120 certification, so that they can work in the field of law enforcement once they finish their degree.
