Information about AlcoholEdu
As many people know, alcohol consumption is a serious issue for students in college. Gwynedd-Mercy College has adopted AlcoholEdu for College as part of our comprehensive substance abuse prevention program. This online, science-based program has been incorporated into FYE 1000 and is required of all incoming students enrolled in that course.
AlcoholEdu has two sections, both of which must be completed to fulfill this requirement:
- Part 1 of the course takes approximately 3 hours to complete, and we recommend that you take it in multiple sittings. This part ends after the Exam and Survey 2. You must earn a grade of 75 or higher to pass and receive credit for the course. If you do not receive a 75%, you will be prompted to retake the test. The course will become available on July 28, 2010, and the deadline for finishing Part 1 is August 25, 2010.
- About 45 days after you complete Part 1, you will receive an email asking you to complete Part 2. This portion should take 15-30 minutes to complete. The deadline to complete Part 2 is October 25, 2010.
Please remember that this module is a requirement for successful completion of your First Year Experience 1000 course and will be factored into the grade that you receive for assignments in your course.
