Who Benefits from the Efforts of the Autism Institute?

Pre-schools- Through the SPECTRUM project, the original program started in 2008, hundreds of pre-school teachers and support staff have received training and guidance.

Teachers – Teachers are encouraged to complete coursework leading to the Autism Certificate.  If a less intense course of study is desired, teachers may elect to take one or more of the four certificate courses.

Parents – Parents are encouraged to be a part of the Autism Institute.  Attending events, sharing needs are a few of the many ways parents can benefit and support the Institute.  Many of our college students have assisted parents with their children through respite care, ABA team assistance and one-on-one instruction.

EVERYONE – There is an open invitation to attend the annual Autism Conference held each April.  Registration is required.

The local community is encouraged to use materials available through Gwynedd-Mercy College’s Lourdes Library.
