For applicants who hold a Content Area Instructional Certificate and are seeking to add Special Education PreK-8 Certification.

  • EDU 581 - Students with Special Needs
  • EDU 560 - Diagnosis, Assessment, Prescriptive and Intervention Techniques for the Exceptional Student
  • EDU 561 - Instructional Strategies and Programs for Exceptional Student with Mild and Moderate Disabilities
  • SPE 562 - Law, Ethics and the Exceptional Student
  • SPE 563 - Special Services for the Exceptional Student
  • SPE 564 - Behavior Management Skills for the Exceptional Student in Learning and Living Environments


Admissions Process

  1. Complete an online application.

  3. A typed (double-spaced), one page Personal Statement of your professional and academic goals.

  4. Official transcripts from ALL colleges/universities attended.

  5. A copy of your valid PA Instructional I Certification.

  6. An interview with a graduate education faculty member when your application is complete.
