Psychology

Bachelor Degree

The academic study of the psychology program is enriched with practical experience in clinical and research settings. The program provides students the opportunity to investigate human behavior, the relationship between the mind and body, counseling theories and abnormal behavior. Students can double-major in sociology or gerontology or minor in another field such as business administration, criminal justice or computer information sciences to broaden their career opportunities.

A student can earn a bachelor of arts or a bachelor of science degree in psychology. The bachelor of arts degree requires two semesters of a foreign language.

Graduates in the field of psychology have distinguished themselves in many settings: hospital administration, law, counseling/therapy, judicial, research and higher education. Gwynedd-Mercy graduates have also found they are readily admitted into graduate programs in the Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.
