English

Bachelor Degree

Students who major in English study a liberal arts curriculum with an emphasis on literature and composition. Due to the broad-based study of the liberal arts and the emphasis on writing and analysis, a degree in English prepares students for a variety of careers and graduate programs. Current GMC graduates of the English program are currently employed attorneys, editors, journalists, public relations directors, sales directors, software specialists and teachers.

Secondary Education

Students who wish to teach in a secondary school setting may earn a baccalaureate degree combined with Secondary Teaching Certification. Methods courses in these areas along with secondary methodology courses provide the basis for pre-student teaching and student teaching at the secondary level.
