Lisbeth Chapin, PhD is an associate professor of English in the Language, Literature, and Fine Arts Division of Gwynedd-Mercy College. Dr. Chapin earned her PhD in English (literary studies) from the University of Denver, her MA in English (creative writing) from Temple University, and her BA in English (journalism) from the University of Delaware. Dr. Chapin has published essays on the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley and on teaching; she has published poetry in literary magazines, including Schuylkill and The Griffin and published journalistic essays. At Gwynedd-Mercy College, Dr. Chapin teaches Romantic and Victorian literature, British literature, Creative Writing, The Arts and The Imagination, Basic Journalism, World of Ideas, Introduction to Literature, and writing courses. Dr. Chapin’s research interests include ecocritical perspectives of Romantic literature as well as literature and the environment, in general. She is currently completing a book manuscript: Shelley’s Nature: Animals, Landscape, and Liberty.
