Gwynedd-Mercy College was founded 60 years ago by the Sisters of Mercy as a Catholic institution of higher learning.  Our beautiful 160 acre location combines the comfort and safety of a residential campus with close proximity to entertainment, culture and business connections in Philadelphia.

We offer more than 40 undergraduate majors, a variety of graduate programs in nursing, education and business and accelerated degree programs for working adults.  These strong programs prepare students to become leaders in professions that will be increasing in demand and societal importance over the next century.  Our relationship with nearby companies provides students with unique internship opportunities and unparalleled preparation for post-graduate work and professional careers.

Our enrollment of 2,700 students means we’re large enough to offer a vibrant campus life, but small enough so that professors can develop mentoring relationships with students.  We educate students in the Mercy tradition of service to society, producing graduates who not only find jobs but also create lives and careers with deep meaning.

Gwynedd-Mercy students enjoy a vibrant, collegiate campus life.  Students can choose to live on campus with over 550 of their peers among four residence halls.   There are 35 clubs and activities for student involvement.  We offer 20 NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports teams and a variety of intramural sports.  A new turf field will open in the fall of 2008 equipped with  training rooms,  press box, lighting for night games, snack concessions and facilities  for over 1,000  Griffin fans!

In the 2008, U.S. News & World Report America’s Best Colleges issue, Gwynedd-Mercy College ranks among the top master’s-level colleges and universities in the north region.  The College’s high freshman retention rate of 78 percent and average graduation rate of 76 percent can be attributed to the College’s supportive student service and leadership programs, strong academic offerings, campus social life and new facilities.

So whether you are a student making a college choice, a parent seeking pertinent academic or financial information, one of our 15,000 alums wishing to learn about happenings at your Alma Mater, a potential donor seeking to make a wise and prudent investment, or a cyber traveler surfing the web, you are a welcome visitor. Enjoy your journey. You are always welcome.
