Responsibilities:
- Manage campus network infrastructure hardware and software including switches, routers, fiber, wiring, wireless access, related servers.
- Manage campus-wide telecommunications, by supporting Associate Director of Enterprise Systems and may be required to work with Telecommunications vendor.
- Maintains reliability and availability of college network systems to meet service level expectations.
- Using network management software, manage network domain and active directory servers.
- Setup and maintain network security for network resources. Ensure access compliance and report breaks for disciplinary action.
- Monitor performance and use of bandwidth resources and make adjustments as required.
- Responsible to create, modify and manage VPN tunnels, Vlans and other network requirements.
- Responsible for external vendor relationships, services, licenses, budgets and contracts related to network infrastructure or telecommunications systems.
- May be required to assist and support systems administrator and support data centers and College’s overall technical infrastructure.
- Maintain a user-focused service strategy, including monitoring of requests, deliverables, and accountability.
- Participate in cross-training and shared responsibilities as a member of the ITS division.
- May supervise student workers or work study students.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience. May substitute an equivalent combination of professional and technical experience.
- 3-5 years in computer services, with an emphasis on technical support, computer repair, networking, or other computer services and expertise.
- A professional certification level of Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or higher is desired, or willingness to obtain this level of certification.
- Willingness to commit to the Mission and Values of Gwynedd-Mercy College is imperative.
